Hernand is the first major region you explore in Crimson Desert and serves as the foundation for your journey. This guide covers every key location and boss encounter in the region.
Key Locations
Hernand Castle
The central hub of the region. Hernand Castle houses the main quest givers, merchant vendors, and the Greymane camp headquarters. You will return here frequently throughout the story.
Roothold Stronghold
A fortified outpost to the northeast. Roothold contains mid-level enemies, a bounty board, and access to the mountain paths leading to Frozen Soul Mountain.
Bluemont Manor
An abandoned estate hiding valuable loot and lore. Explore the manor basement for a rare armor set and notes about the region's history.
Eldertree
A sacred grove north of the castle. Eldertree is home to NPCs who trade Contribution Points for unique items and skill resets.
Nas River Fishing Dock
A peaceful location where you can fish for cooking ingredients and trade with the dock merchant. Some fish are required for specific crafting recipes.
Goldleaf Guildhouse
The merchant guild headquarters. Complete tasks here to unlock trade routes and earn passive gold income.
Karin Quarry
The primary mining location in Hernand. Iron Ore and Copper Ore are abundant here — visit regularly to stock up on upgrade materials.
Fort Perwin
A ruined fortress on the region's western border. Fort Perwin serves as the gateway to the next region and contains a late-game Hernand boss.
Visit Karin Quarry early and often. The Iron Ore and Copper Ore here fuel all your early weapon and armor upgrades.
Boss Encounters
Hernand contains six major boss fights, each with unique mechanics and valuable rewards.
Myurdin
The first story boss you encounter. Myurdin is a straightforward melee fight that teaches core dodge and counterattack mechanics. Focus on learning his three-hit combo pattern.
Matthias
A human rival boss fought in the Roothold area. Matthias uses sword and shield with fast combos. Stagger him with heavy attacks to create openings.
Kailok the Hornsplitter
A massive beast boss found in the plains east of Hernand Castle. Kailok charges repeatedly and can one-shot underleveled players. Stay to his sides and attack after charge recoveries.
Reed Devil

Tenebrum
A shadow creature lurking in the caves beneath Bluemont Manor. Tenebrum attacks from darkness and requires the Lantern to reveal its true form.
Kearush the Slayer
The final Hernand boss. This massive troll guards the path at Fort Perwin. Kearush hits incredibly hard and requires careful stamina management. See our dedicated Kearush guide for strategy details.
Do not attempt Kearush the Slayer until you have upgraded your primary weapon to at least +5 and pushed Health to 5. This fight is significantly harder than the other Hernand bosses.
