All Mounts in Crimson Desert — How to Get Every Mount

Find all mounts in Crimson Desert and how to unlock them. Covers horses, dragons, bears, raptors, lizards, and every mount type with acquisition methods.

Crimson Desert features 29 rideable mounts across nine categories. Each mount type handles differently and some are required for specific content. Here is the complete list.

Horses (6 Mounts)

Horses are the most common mounts and available from early game. They offer balanced speed and stamina.

  • Hernand Courser — Starter horse, reliable all-rounder (Speed 3, Stamina 4)
  • Roothold Destrier — Armored war horse with high HP (Speed 2, Stamina 5)
  • Goldleaf Palfrey — Fastest horse in the game (Speed 5, Stamina 3)
  • Shadowmane Stallion — Found in Bluemont Manor stables (Speed 4, Stamina 4)
  • Steppe Runner — Plains region reward (Speed 4, Stamina 3)
  • Ironclad Charger — Heavy mount with knockback resistance (Speed 2, Stamina 5)

Dragons & Wyverns (4 Mounts)

Flying mounts that unlock aerial combat and exploration of otherwise unreachable areas.

  • Crimson Wyvern — Story reward, your first flying mount (Speed 4, Flight 4)
  • Stormscale Drake — Found in the Delesyia region (Speed 5, Flight 3)
  • Obsidian Wyrm — Rare drop from endgame content (Speed 3, Flight 5)
  • Elder Sky Dragon — Ultimate flying mount, quest reward (Speed 5, Flight 5)
TIP

The Crimson Wyvern is required for the Golden Star boss fight. Make sure to upgrade its stamina before attempting that encounter.

Dinosaurs (3 Mounts)

Massive mounts with the highest HP pools. Slower but nearly impossible to knock off.

  • Thornback Saurian — Found in the southern wetlands (Speed 2, HP 5)
  • Ironjaw Rex — Tamed after defeating it in the wild (Speed 3, HP 5)
  • Swamp Strider — Amphibious, can traverse water areas (Speed 2, HP 4)

  • Frost Bear — Found on Frozen Soul Mountain (Speed 2, ATK 4)
  • War Bear — Armored variant with mounted combat bonuses (Speed 2, ATK 5)

  • Iron Strider — Upgraded variant with weapons (Speed 4, Fuel 3)

WARNING

Flying mounts cannot be used in underground areas or instanced dungeons. Always keep a ground mount registered as your secondary.

How to Acquire Mounts

Most mounts are acquired through one of four methods: taming wild creatures, quest rewards, boss drops, or merchant purchases. Taming requires the Beastmaster skill and appropriate bait items. Refer to individual mount guides for specific acquisition steps.
