Crimson Desert Mount Talisman Bug Fixed in 1.01.01: What Was Wrong and What Changes Now
The Mount Talisman 'Use' option was incorrectly showing as available for Damiane and Oongka in Crimson Desert. Patch 1.01.01 fixed this display bug. Here is what the talisman does, what the fix changes, and what still remains unresolved.
One of the four confirmed fixes in Patch 1.01.01 (March 29, 2026) addresses a specific display error with the new mount Talismans: the "Use" option for Talismans belonging to the five new mounts added in Patch 1.01.00 was incorrectly appearing as available when playing as Damiane or Oongka. These characters cannot actually use those Talismans, so the option should not have been appearing. Patch 1.01.01 corrects this — the "Use" option for inapplicable Talismans will no longer appear for Damiane and Oongka.
If you tried to use one of these Talismans as Damiane or Oongka before the patch and hit an error, now you understand why. If you were confused about which Talismans are valid for your character, the display is now accurate.
Quick answer
- What was wrong: The "Use" option for Talismans of the 5 new mounts appeared available for Damiane and Oongka, even though these characters cannot use them
- Fixed in:
Patch 1.01.01(March 29, 2026) - What is correct now: The "Use" option will not appear for Damiane or Oongka in contexts where the Talisman is not valid for their character
- Separate issue: Damiane and Oongka still cannot temper equipment — that is a different, still-active known issue
What the talisman does
Talismans are mount-specific enhancement items introduced alongside the five new mounts in Patch 1.01.00. Each of the five new mounts has a dedicated Talisman:
White BearTalismanCotuboTalismanSnailbirdTalismanFlamingoTalismanBreezyTalisman
A Talisman for a given mount provides that mount with enhanced capabilities or stat bonuses. Using a Talisman activates its effect on the corresponding mount. Talismans are character and mount-specific — they are not general-use items that work across all mounts or all characters.
Damiane and Oongka are not in the set of characters for which these specific Talismans have valid effects. The "Use" option should not appear for these characters in the Talisman interface.
What the bug was doing
When Damiane or Oongka players opened the Talisman item interface, the "Use" option appeared as if it were a valid action. This is a display logic error — the UI was not correctly checking character eligibility before showing the option. Players who saw "Use" and clicked it would have received an error, an unexpected result, or simply had the action fail silently.
This created confusion in two ways:
- Players who saw "Use" available assumed they could apply the Talisman, only to have it fail
- Players familiar with the issue avoided the Talisman entirely, unsure of what the intended behavior was
What the fix in 1.01.01 actually changes
The fix corrects the eligibility check in the Talisman UI. The "Use" option now only appears when the item is actually usable by the active character. For Damiane and Oongka, the "Use" option for the five new mount Talismans will not display at all. The option was never supposed to be there — it was a display logic mistake.
This does not change whether Damiane and Oongka can eventually get access to these Talismans. It simply removes an incorrectly displayed option. The Talismans remain valid items for other characters.
If you tried to use it before the fix — what to check
If you attempted to use a new mount Talisman as Damiane or Oongka before Patch 1.01.01, the item was not consumed — the attempt would have failed or been blocked before any item consumption occurred. Your Talisman should still be in your inventory.
Check your item inventory for the relevant Talisman. If it is present, it was not used. If you believe it was consumed without effect, submit a report through the in-game feedback tool or official support with details of what happened.
What remains unresolved for Damiane and Oongka
The Talisman display fix is entirely separate from the more significant issue affecting these characters: Damiane and Oongka still cannot temper equipment. That is an active known issue on the official list, unaffected by the Talisman fix. The tempering block means these characters cannot progress through the equipment tempering stages at all — including the Stage 4 system enabled by Refinement Tokens.

FAQ
Can Damiane and Oongka use any mount Talismans?
The official patch notice does not specify which Talismans, if any, are valid for Damiane and Oongka. The fix specifically addresses the five new mount Talismans from Patch 1.01.00. If other Talismans exist in the game with different eligibility rules, those are separate.
I play Damiane and I see the "Use" option for a Talisman. Is that the bug or the fix?
After Patch 1.01.01, if the "Use" option appears for a new mount Talisman while playing Damiane, the patch may not have applied correctly. Verify your build number on the title screen. If you are on 1.01.01 and still seeing this, report it as a potential regression.
Does this fix affect any other items beyond the five new mount Talismans? The official patch notice specifically describes the fix in terms of the five new mount Talismans and Damiane/Oongka. No broader item display changes are mentioned.
