Crimson Desert Known Issues After Patch 1.14.00

The current Crimson Desert known issues for July 2026, including AMD driver crashes, FSR 4 rain bugs, blocked quests, controller problems, and safe workarounds.

Patch 1.14.00 fixes several frustrating Crimson Desert bugs, but it does not clear the official Known Issues list. The biggest current warnings involve two AMD driver versions, graphics features on PC, and quests that can block progress when played as the wrong character.

Quick answer

Check these first if the game is crashing or progress has stopped:

  • AMD crash: Avoid drivers 26.6.2 and 26.6.3. Use 26.6.4+, or roll back to 26.6.1 or earlier.
  • FSR 4 rain bug: Rain can disappear, blur, or distort the picture. Temporarily switch away from FSR 4.
  • GTX 1060 white screen: Do not combine FSR upscaling with Frame Generation while the issue remains live.
  • Greymane faction quests: Some cannot progress as Damiane or Oongka. Switch back to Kliff before continuing.
  • Damiane Shield Toss lock: If Kliff dies during the affected sequence, reload a previous save.
  • Mac furniture cursor: The cursor can be offset in furniture placement mode; there is no confirmed full fix yet.

Back up your save before trying recovery steps, and do not overwrite your only good save after a progression blocker appears.

PC graphics and driver issues

AMD 26.6.2 and 26.6.3 can crash the game

Pearl Abyss specifically identifies these two AMD Software releases. Its recommended paths are:

  • update to 26.6.4 or later, or
  • roll back to 26.6.1 or an earlier compatible version

If crashes began immediately after a driver update, verify the installed version before reinstalling Crimson Desert. Our AMD and NVIDIA driver guide has the full checklist.

FSR 4 can break rainy scenes

With FSR 4 enabled, rain effects may disappear or the image may become blurry or distorted. The safest diagnostic step is to use another upscaling option until Pearl Abyss marks the issue solved.

GTX 1060 can show a white screen

On a GeForce GTX 1060, the combination of FSR upscaling and Frame Generation can produce a white screen. Disable Frame Generation or switch away from FSR before doing more invasive troubleshooting.

Quest and progression blockers

Some Greymane faction quests cannot progress as Damiane or Oongka

Switch to Kliff before attempting the affected faction quest. If the quest is already stuck, switch back to Kliff and reload a save from before the blocked step where possible.

Damiane's Shield Toss sequence can lock progress

The official list describes a case where progress can become impossible if Kliff dies during the affected Shield Toss sequence. Reload a previous save instead of repeatedly forcing the same state.

Do not confuse fixed 1.14.00 bugs with live issues

Patch 1.14.00 fixed the following reported problems:

  • A Dwarf's Concern could not progress in some cases
  • controls could stop responding after a pet jumped onto a bed
  • Damiane's Skystep follow-up input could fail
  • Kliff's Aerial Force Palm could be interrupted by freefall
  • riders could display incorrectly on very fast mounts
  • some gates did not react correctly to NPCs
  • Praevus, Ator's orb, and other specific audio could play incorrectly or linger

Update the game before troubleshooting any of those. If one still reproduces on version 1.14.00, report it as a regression and include the platform and save state.

Mac App Store status and Mac-specific issues

At publication time, Pearl Abyss said the Mac App Store rollout of Patch 1.14.00 was still in progress. That creates two practical cautions:

  1. Confirm the installed version before assuming a 1.14.00 fix has failed.
  2. A save created by a newer game version may not load on an older client version.

The official list also retains a Mac furniture-placement issue where the cursor position can be offset from the intended point. Cross-Save does not currently support Mac, so do not rely on the new cloud slot as a Mac recovery path.

Other current control and presentation issues

Pearl Abyss' live list contains additional scenario-specific problems. Two worth recognizing are:

  • certain inputs or character-specific actions can behave incorrectly in narrow quest states
  • audio or object state can persist longer than intended in some encounters

Patch 1.14.00 closes several of these cases, but not every similar symptom is necessarily the same bug. Record the exact quest, active character, platform, and input device when reporting a remaining issue.

Safe troubleshooting order

  1. Check that the game is on the latest patch available for your platform.
  2. Back up the save before testing a progression workaround.
  3. On PC, verify the GPU driver version and avoid the affected AMD releases.
  4. Disable FSR 4 and Frame Generation while isolating graphics problems.
  5. For a character-specific quest blocker, return to Kliff and reload before the affected objective.
  6. Verify game files on Steam or Epic if local files may be damaged.
  7. If the problem matches no official workaround, stop repeating the trigger and file a report with screenshots, video, and reproduction steps.

FAQ

Did Patch 1.14.00 fix A Dwarf's Concern?

Yes. The patch notes list the progression issue as fixed. Make sure your platform has actually received 1.14.00 before retesting.

Why does Crimson Desert crash after an AMD update?

Check whether the installed release is 26.6.2 or 26.6.3. Both are named in the official Known Issues notice. Move to 26.6.4+ or roll back to 26.6.1 or earlier.

Is FSR 4 safe to use?

It can still cause missing rain, blur, or distortion in rainy scenes. Use another upscaling mode if you encounter the problem.

Can I use Cross-Save to move a Mac save while waiting for its patch?

No. Cross-Save currently supports PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games Store, but not Mac.

Should I delete or unlink my Cross-Save account to troubleshoot?

No. Unlinking the last connected platform account or deleting the Pearl Abyss ID can permanently delete the Cross-Save slot. Use the Cross-Save setup and safety guide before changing account links.
