Crimson Desert Dragon's Chamber Guide — Puzzle Solution & Walkthrough
Complete walkthrough for the Dragon's Stone Chamber puzzle in Crimson Desert. Learn how to find the hidden entrance near Howling Hill, solve the three-dial puzzle, and claim the Abyss Artifact reward.
The Dragon's Stone Chamber is one of the most rewarding early-game puzzles in Crimson Desert, hiding an Abyss Artifact and the Memories of Abundance behind a three-dial mechanism. Located in the Hernand region near Greymane Camp on Howling Hill, this chamber is easy to walk past if you do not know what to look for.
Location
The Dragon's Stone Chamber is situated near Howling Hill in Hernand, approximately 700 meters south-southeast of Hernand Town. You will see a prominent question mark on your map marking the general area. Head to the quarry on the mountain near this marker to find a mysterious mural obscured by thorny bushes.
How to Enter the Dragon's Stone Chamber
Step 1: Find the Mural
Head to the quarry on the mountain near the question mark. You will find a large mural covered in thorny overgrowth on the cliff face.
Step 2: Activate the Memory
Equip your Visione (the golden helmet) and interact with the mural to watch a stored memory that provides context for the puzzle.
Step 3: Clear the Thorns
Use Blinding Flash with your sword to burn away the thorny vegetation covering the entrance. The sword's reflected light sets the dry thorns ablaze and reveals the hidden door.
Step 4: Open the Door
Once the thorns are gone, run directly into the stone door — Kliff will push it open, granting access to the chamber itself.
Blinding Flash is not just for combat — it burns vegetation, reveals hidden paths, and even shows the power status of electrical cables during puzzles. Always try shining it on anything that looks suspicious.
Solving the Three-Dial Puzzle
Inside the chamber, you will descend into a pit containing three ornate dials that need to be rotated to specific positions. The original clues are found on murals carved into cliff walls around Anvil Hill (visible as "V" marks on the in-game map), but you can use the solutions below to skip the treasure hunt.
Dial 1: Sun and Moon Dial
Rotate this dial so that the sun and moon symbols are positioned at the top, pointing directly upward (north).
Dial 2: Scorpion Dial
Orient this dial so that the scorpion's claws face northwest (upper-left direction). The pincer section should be slightly slanted upward to the left.
Dial 3: Spiral Dial
Position this dial so that the larger spiral is in the top-right quadrant. This is sometimes described as a "U-shaped design pointing to the left, around 10 PM if it were a clock face."
The alignment needs to be precise — almost pixel-perfect. If a dial looks correct but the door does not open, try nudging it slightly in each direction until you get exactly the right position.
Rewards
Once all three dials are correctly aligned, a door at the far end of the chamber opens. Inside you will find:
- Abyss Artifact — Essential skill point for character progression
- Memories of Abundance — Reveals all hidden location markers across the Hernand region
- Abyss Nexus fast travel point — A permanent teleport location
The Memories of Abundance alone makes this puzzle worth doing early — having all hidden locations revealed on your Hernand map dramatically increases your exploration efficiency for the rest of the region.
