How to Beat Kearush the Slayer in Crimson Desert
Detailed boss strategy for Kearush the Slayer at Hernand Castle, including attack patterns, phase breakdowns, and all loot drops.
Kearush the Slayer is the final and most dangerous boss in the Hernand region. This massive troll guards the path near Fort Perwin and hits harder than anything you have faced so far. Careful preparation and patience are essential.
Location
Kearush is found at Fort Perwin on the western border of the Hernand region. The fight takes place in the fort's crumbling courtyard, which provides some environmental cover but limited space.
Boss Overview
Kearush is a towering troll with enormous reach and devastating power attacks. Every hit from this boss deals significant damage, and getting caught in a combo is often fatal. This fight is a test of everything you have learned in Hernand.
Attack Patterns
Phase 1 (100%–60% HP)
- Overhead Slam — Raises both fists and slams the ground. Dodge sideways. Leaves a short recovery window for 2–3 hits.
- Sweeping Backhand — Wide arc attack. Dodge toward the attacking arm to end up behind him.
- Ground Pound — Pounds the ground creating a shockwave. Jump or dodge at the right moment.
- Rock Throw — Picks up debris and hurls it at range. Strafe continuously to avoid.
After every Overhead Slam, Kearush is vulnerable for about 3 seconds. This is your safest damage window in Phase 1. Do not get greedy — land 2–3 hits and back off.
Phase 2 (60%–30% HP)
Kearush becomes enraged. His attacks are faster and he gains new abilities:
- Charge — Sprints at you from across the arena. Dodge at the last second — he crashes into walls and staggers himself.
- Ground Eruption — Slams the ground causing rocks to erupt in a line toward you. Roll perpendicular to the line.
Use the fort walls to your advantage. Baiting the Charge into walls creates the longest stagger window in the fight.
Phase 3 (30%–0% HP)
Kearush enters a final rage. All attacks are faster and deal more damage, but his patterns remain the same. The key change is he chains attacks more frequently, leaving fewer safe windows.
At 10% health Kearush uses a desperation attack — a massive area slam that covers most of the arena. When you see him roar and glow red, sprint to the far edge of the courtyard immediately.
Recommended Preparation
- Primary weapon upgraded to +5 minimum
- Health stat at 5
- Full stock of health potions and cooked meals
- Stamina potions for Phase 3
- Equip your highest defense armor
Strategy Tips
- Stay close to Kearush's legs — his attacks are designed to hit at medium range
- Never use more than 3 attacks before dodging away
- Save stamina potions for Phase 3 where dodge frequency increases
- Bait the Charge attack into walls for free damage in Phase 2
- Keep emergency food on your quick slot for panic healing
